Why hair needs proteins

Hair is made up of approximately eighty percent keratin protein. Coloring, bleaching, heat styling, hard water, and time gradually wash out and break down this protein: voids appear in the hair structure, the cuticle lifts, and the hair becomes porous, thin, brittle, loses elasticity and shine, starts to tangle, and develops split ends. Regular moisturizing only temporarily smooths the surface but does not restore strength. To make hair strong again, the protein itself needs to be replenished — that is exactly what protein care does.

How Cosmex PROTEIN works

The shampoo works in two directions simultaneously. A gentle sulfate-free base carefully cleanses the scalp and hair of dirt, sebum, and styling product residue without disrupting the protective hydrolipid layer or stripping moisture. At the same time, a complex of hydrolyzed proteins penetrates damaged areas and fills the voids in the hair structure, rebuilding the weakened protein framework. As a result, the hair becomes denser, stronger, and more elastic, the surface becomes smoother and reflects light more intensely, and the lengths look thick, vibrant, and well-groomed.

Key actives

Hydrolyzed Silk. A protein with an amino acid profile close to that of hair. Penetrates deeply, restores smoothness and elasticity, gives hair a silky texture and luxurious shine, making it soft and manageable.

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein. Broken down into small fragments that penetrate deep into the hair shaft. Replenishes lost protein, rebuilds and reinforces the keratin framework, adds density to the lengths, improves elasticity, and reduces breakage.

Gentle sulfate-free base (SLS-Free). Mild surfactants cleanse without over-drying, help colored hair retain vibrancy longer, and are suitable for frequent use and sensitive scalps.
