The technologist says
«Less foam than mass-market — that’s normal. A thick lather is the work of harsh sulfates, not a sign of cleanliness: gentle surfactants clean just as well, only more quietly. Give the formula two or three washes — your hand will adjust.»
It works because a gentle washing base cleans without the “squeak” — which means it strips neither the pigment nor the scalp’s protective layer. Sulfate-free bases cost more to produce, but we brew them ourselves — and don’t build someone else’s markup into the price.
