For curly and wavy hair — Cosmex Curly Expert
Curly hair is dry by nature. So — sulfate-free and with leave-in care.
Curly Expert: sulfate-free shampoo 1000 ml, Curly Expert balm, 17-in-1 Curl leave-in cream-spray on damp hair. The shampoo and balm are also available as a set.
What is in the Curly Expert line
The line has three products and a set. Curly Expert sulfate-free shampoo, 1000 ml: mild surfactants (Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside, Decyl Glucoside), glycerin, hydrolyzed wheat protein, aloe juice and panthenol. It contains no sulfates and no silicones.
Curly Expert balm, 1000 ml: shea butter, glycerin, wheat protein, aloe and panthenol on a conditioning base. For slip it contains light silicones — Cyclopentasiloxane and Dimethicone.
17-in-1 Curl leave-in cream-spray, 250 ml: applied to damp hair after washing. The formula has glycerin, panthenol, betaine and a bond complex (Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate); it also contains silicones. The full INCI list is on every product page and label.
Does Curly Expert fit the curly girl method
For the strict method, which excludes both sulfates and silicones, the shampoo fits: it has neither.
The balm and the cream-spray contain Cyclopentasiloxane and Dimethicone. That is a deliberate formulation choice: silicones give slip for detangling and keep curls defined in humid weather. If you follow a silicone-free routine, take the shampoo; if the styling result matters more, use the whole system.
The routine in four steps
1. Wash: apply shampoo to the scalp and massage; the lengths are cleansed by the foam running down. Curly hair usually needs one or two washes a week.
2. Balm: spread through the lengths and ends, detangle with fingers or a wide-tooth comb while the balm is in, then rinse. Never comb curls dry.
3. Leave-in: on very damp hair apply the cream-spray and scrunch upwards to form the curl.
4. Dry: blot with microfibre or a cotton T-shirt without rubbing, then diffuse on low heat or air-dry.
