Why it matters what you wash porous hair with. On the outside, healthy hair is covered with tightly overlapping cuticle scales and a thin lipid layer that makes the surface smooth and water-repellent. Coloring, bleaching, heat styling, hard water and strong sun gradually break down this protection. The scales lift and the hair becomes porous: it absorbs water quickly and loses it just as fast, frizzes, tangles, turns dull and holds color poorly. In this situation, a harsh sulfate shampoo strips the last remaining lipids from the lengths, and every wash sets your care back. That is why, for porous hair, cleansing is not a formality but half of the result.

How the shampoo works. The cleansing base here is sulfate-free and mild: it removes sebum, dust and styling residue without stripping the hair squeaky clean. While the shampoo is on the hair, positively charged conditioning ingredients get to work. They are attracted to damaged areas of the cuticle, settle on them and partially smooth the surface even before conditioner. As a result, hair does not turn into a tangled mop after rinsing and is noticeably easier to comb.

Active ingredients and their roles.

• Cationic silicone copolyol. A water-soluble conditioning silicone that selectively deposits on damaged areas, smooths the cuticle and reduces frizz without building up into a heavy layer.
• Polyquaternium-7. A conditioning polymer: makes wet hair easier to comb and eliminates static.
• Panthenol. Provitamin B5, which retains moisture in the hair and makes it more elastic.
• Squalane. A lightweight lipid similar to the skin's own lipids. Adds softness and helps the hair surface look smoother.
• Argan and jojoba oils. Complement the lipid complex: they soften and add smoothness. In a shampoo they work gently; the main nourishing load is carried by the line's conditioner and mask.
• Centella asiatica extract. A soothing botanical ingredient for scalp comfort.
• Tocopherol. Vitamin E, an antioxidant that protects the oils in the formula from oxidation.
• Chelating agent and citric acid. The first binds hard-water salts so that no residue is left on the hair; the second acidifies the formula and helps the scales lie flatter.

What will change. After the very first wash, hair is easier to comb, tangles less along the lengths and does not puff up into a frizzy cloud after drying. The scalp stays clean, with no feeling of tightness. With regular use together with the line's conditioner, hair becomes softer, smoother to the touch and more manageable when styling, and the ends look neater. The shampoo does not glue split ends together and does not replace a haircut, but it ensures that washing no longer harms porous lengths.
