Where dullness comes from. Hair shine is optics. A smooth surface reflects light in a single directed stream, and we see a mirror-like gleam. A rough surface scatters light in all directions, and hair looks matte even when it's clean. Roughness appears when the cuticle scales lift: after coloring and bleaching, from hot tools, dry indoor air, friction against pillows and scarves. Such hair also frizzes — the lifted scales absorb moisture from the air, the strand swells and loses its shape. So to bring back shine, you don't need to add radiance on top; you need to even out the surface itself.

What a laminating shampoo does. Salon lamination coats the hair with a film that smooths the relief of the cuticle. Glass Lamination shampoo performs a similar task in a gentle at-home format — with every wash. The sulfate-free base delicately removes impurities without opening the cuticle unnecessarily, while the cationic components of GlassLock settle on the hair and don't fully rinse away with the lather. They fill in irregularities and smooth the surface, so light is once again reflected evenly.

The GlassLock complex and other ingredients of the formula.

• Cationic silicone copolyol. The shampoo's main laminating ingredient: it is attracted to damaged areas, evens out the cuticle and forms a thin glossy film without weighing hair down.
• Polyquaternium-7. A conditioning polymer that makes combing easier and eliminates static.
• Hydrolyzed keratin. Small protein fragments fill porous areas and make the hair feel denser to the touch.
• Sodium hyaluronate. Retains moisture on the hair surface and makes it more elastic.
• Cystoseira brown seaweed extract. A marine ingredient responsible for gloss and smoothness in the Glass Lamination line; in the line's mask it also works for heat protection.
• Panthenol. Provitamin B5 for hydration and softness.
• Centella asiatica extract. Supports scalp comfort during washing.
• Chelating agent and citric acid. Bind hard-water salts and acidify the formula so the cuticle lies flatter.

What you'll notice. After the first wash, hair looks shinier and smoother, combs more easily when wet and frizzes less after drying. The roots stay light: the shampoo doesn't weigh hair down or strip it of volume. If you continue with the Glass Lamination conditioner and mask, the effect becomes more pronounced and longer-lasting, and the hair surface looks smoother wash after wash. Keep in mind: the GlassLock film is renewed with every wash, so the best results come from regular use rather than a one-off.
